In August 2018, the formally Loews Annapolis Hotel was sold and rebranded to The Hotel Annapolis. Located in the heart of downtown Annapolis, the Hotel Annapolis is a major lodging location for tourism, business, and recreational stay.  Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) has been working closing with the Human Resource department of The Hotel Annapolis to ensure they have qualified premier candidates for their guests.

After the rebrand the hotel held a hiring event where the Talent Consultant of AAWDC’s JobsWork! Arundel initiative was able to pre-screen candidates interested in the Hospitality Industry. During the pre-screening process candidates were cross referenced to ensure position eligibility, vetted based on the needs of the business, provided support with establishing winning resume’s using AAWDC’s internal resume builders Career Coach, and mock interview sessions.  Let’s say that these proactive techniques worked!

On the day of the hiring event twelve (12) candidates were referred to the business.   Four (4) of the candidates were hired on the spot and began employment within five (5) days of the hiring event and three (3) of the candidates are pending opportunities within this mega hotel.   Out of all candidates interviewed, the Human Resource department indicated that the candidates were qualified and interviewed well. Other’s would have been offered positions if they had the flexibility to work weekends.  Out of the five who were not offered employment from this hiring event, three have been offered employment in the Hospitality industry.
