Corsica Technologies is a veteran-owned business located in Centreville, MD that provides information technology services for small to medium businesses, residential customers, and government agencies in the Maryland, D.C., and northern Virginia region.
Corsica Technologies came to AAWDC for assistance hiring qualified candidates for their open positions. AAWDC discussed train-to-hire option with Corsica Technologies which would allow the company to train new hires in their methods, processes, and specific skills needed.
AAWDC referred Mathew, a veteran who had recently been discharged from Naval service in San Diego, CA, and who now lived in Centreville, MD. Matthew met with Corsica Technologies owner and was offered employment and on-the-job training as a technician on the night shift.
Matthew was deemed eligible for the training and his customized training plan was quickly created by AAWDC and Corsica. Matthew began his civilian career with Corsica Technologies three weeks after being discharged from the Navy. Matthew successfully completed his training and was eventually promoted to a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician at Corsica Technologies.
