Benefits Planning

Are you a Social Security beneficiary interested in working, but worried about your benefits?

A Benefits Planning, Assistance & Outreach (BPAO) Professional from the Benefits Resource Center is available in the Glen Burnie One-Stop Career Center once a month to meet with Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Beneficiaries interested in joining the workforce.

Individuals receive assistance with:

  • Consumer Choice
  • Impact of Employment
  • Benefits Analysis and Scenarios Advisement
  • Work Incentives
  • Plan for Achieving Self Support (PASS), Subsidy, Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA), Impairment Related Work Expenses (IRWE), Blind Work Expenses (BWE)
  • Student-earned Income Exclusion
  • Medicare and Medicaid

Appointments run every 45 minutes, from 9 am to 4 pm , once a month. For dates and to sign up, talk with a staff person when visiting the Center, or call 410.424.3240.

Please bring the following information to your appointment:

  1. Earnings Record from SSA.
  2. Pay stubs if working, or salary information for a potential job.
  3. Social Security Number
