Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology is available in some of our One-Stop Career Centers. Inovative software programs are available to individuals needing specialized assistance.

The following pieces of Assistive Technology are available in our Arundel Mills One-Stop Career Center:

• 19" Flat Screen LCD computer monitor
• JAWS Professional software - screen reader for computer users who are blind
• Zoom Text Level 2 software - screen magnifier and reader for individuals with visual imparments.

• 19" Flat Screen LCD computer monitor
• Kurzwell 1000 software - software that utilizes a scanner to display written text on screen. Text is read out loud for individuals who are blind or who experience reaqding dificulties.

Assistive Technology is available in our Glen Burnie One-Stop Career Center location due to our partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS). The utilization of this Assistive Technology can be coordinated between the One-Stop Career Center and DORS.
