Programs such as the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Employment Opportunity Credit, Enterprise Zone Credit, and the Maryland Disability Employment Tax Credit can help you create a diverse, profitable workplace by recruiting veterans, minorities, and jobseekers with disabilities.

Customized Training Programs:

Maryland Business Works: Expand your staff’s skills, retain and promote your employees, and increase your overall productivity. Our dollar-for-dollar match program can defray the costs of improving your staff, especially if you’re a small business owner or in a high-demand industry.

Program Highlights:

• Up to $5,000 in training funds per employee
• Dollar for dollar match for the cost of training
• Simple application process and quick turn-around for eligible companies
• Employers choose the training vendor (community colleges, four-year schools, private vendors, consultants, or in-house trainer)

Who is eligible?

• Businesses must be a private sector, for-profit, or non-profit company headquartered (or having a permanent physical location) in Anne Arundel County
• Focus is on smaller businesses (50 employees & less) but larger companies may be eligible
• In-demand industries targeted
• Employees to be trained must be full-time with benefits
