LINTHICUM - The BWI Business Partnership Inc. last month selected the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation as its 2009 Employer of the Year.
Officials said in the past the group served nearly 30,000 customers, including more than 10,000 residents and more than 450 companies participating in AAWDC-sponsored job fairs, 962 public-assistance recipients participating in the JobsWork!.Arundel Program and 440 inmates participating in its re-entry program.
The workforce group operates six career centers throughout the County, offering help with resume preparation, interviewing skills and job-search strategies. Its programs include individual and group-employment assistance, occupational training, job listings, job fairs and recruitment assistance for employers.
