Our Disability Navigator will work with you and your workforce specialist to guide you through the One-Stop Career Center network.
The Navigator:
- Facilitates universal access to Maryland ’s One-Stop system
- Works with staff to ensure job seekers with disabilities to access available programs
- Ensures necessary accommodations, services, and supports are provided
- Provides information and referral on work incentive and employment support programs such as SSA’s Ticket to Work and the Benefits Planning, Assistance and Outreach (BPAO) programs
- Works with school-aged youth with disabilities to secure employment and economic self-sufficiency
- Serves as a resource to the workforce investment community on issues related to the employment of individuals with disabilities who wish to enter and remain in the workforce
- Works with local businesses and organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Leadership Network to promote the hiring of individuals with disabilities
- Offers training on topics such as disability etiquette, facility, program, and communication accessibility requirements, and the Americans with Disabilities Act as part of Speakers Bureau
